Sometimes when trying to reach
A place you have never been before;
A place of spirit, songs and love
Or so you’ve heard;
And hope it’s so.
But physics fail and spirit falls
And the world can dampen hope.
The sky can open
But still the love will come
From strange folk.
So, holding courage in either hand
You stick to what you’d planned
And camp amid strangers.
With strange ways
Who spend all the day
With joy and love you don’t understand.
So, clinging to the rock of hope
And hoping while speaking on the phone
That the mechanics of everyday life
Will disappear
And this place will supply
The answers you want to hear.
The answers that will give your soul some balm
Sit and thank the Spirit that took you
From the humdrum and left you
In camp calm.
I wish and pray I will find my camp calm as well someday.

Hi Peter,
Thought this one sounded a bit like Butlin's
not quite up to your usual high standard,
But still better than some.
All right for an old plonky.
Cant do better than ten mate.
