Sex and Football. Strike that! Sex and....? You fill in the blanks.

Poem Artwork

Much hullabaloo did lately ensue
with Super Bowl’s surprise celebrated bust,
tagged a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ – Something new –
Peel away fashion flash of bare boob! Oops! Trust

it’s accidental – But, dressed-up for fuss!
Bustier, cleavage, not provocative enough.
Line crossed bosom’s threshold so we’ll discuss
ad nauseam, raise profiles, profits, from slough.

Breasts are beautiful, even prudes don’t deny.
Disrobed ever so fine, right place and time.
Titillate to test limits’ taste, let’s decry –
Please! Such ploy, this S and M pantomime.

Sex sells: All the more tweaked, when twits
manipulate desensitized hypocrites!

Gosh Helga, I don't watch TV much less FOOTBALL!? And see what I missed? My goodness I must stop reading so many books and watch the boob tube once in a while... oops... did I say BOOB? I'm sorry -- I'll rephrase it: I must watch the mammary...ah...breas...ah...TV more often. Great sonnet, lady. And I couldn't agree with you more.

Carmen :-)

Nicely ironic, Helga! Interesting double standard in that football games traditionally have their "T&A" provided by "professional" Cheerleaders, little more than factory-manufactured Barbie-lookalikes (tittilating -- no pun -- yet devoid of any overtly sexual aspects), never mind the vaguely homoerotic S&M (violence) aspects of the Game itself, yet the End of Western Civilization is suddenly decreed because a single semi-bare (the aureola was covered) BROWN breast was revealed. I guess that's because FAMILIES watch the Super Bowl together so the Game needs to keep its facade of Middle Class Suburban values while the very kids the parents worry may be corrupted by this watch MTV Videos where Video Vixens shake their thong-clad rumps and thrust their groins right into the camera lens regularly...

The mind boggles...
