The Forbidden Fruit

Did our Heavenly Father truly think that Adam and Eve would not partake?

The fruit that he said was forbidden, that eating was a big mistake?

Did he really think that they would simply say, “I will not break his command?

Or did he know that once they knew it was forbidden it would be in great demand?

Did our Heavenly Father really make such a huge mistake?

Did he not know that surely they would feel compelled to partake?

Of the forbidden fruit that he loudly said, “you are not to touch.”

Did he not know that such a demand would simply be to too much?

He knew I am sure that they would be compelled to eat that fruit for sure.

He knew that the sins would produce hardships that they would surely endure.

He placed that fruit for them to eat and thereby started a path

Of sin and doubt, of mistakes and wrongs enough to cause his wrath.

Why did he put that fruit there?  A question you may ask.

Was it not a costly, mistake and a useless task?

I tell you he put it there for them to eat and here is the reason why.

It was the first mistake of man and leads to more for you and I.

God knows we only grow in faith by learning from our mistakes

The knowledge of knowing we have done wrong is often what it takes

To bring us closer to the Lord and make us want to grow and we must

By our mistakes we are made stronger and only then can say “In God We Trust.”
