Today is the First Day!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Your tomorrows will bring many joys and some strife.

But there is one thing you should never fail to see

It is that God will be with you and he will also be with me.

Yesterday is but a memory of what has come and past

Today will be yesterday, yes it has a short time to last.

Tomorrow is a question as to what it will bring

Be it great joy or harsh pain, whether it will tickle or sting

We know not which, we will live it whatever it may be

What it will hand us when it comes we today cannot see.

But there is one absolute of which we are assured.

Whatever tomorrow brings we will be enforced by our Lord.

So take no time to worry or contemplate tomorrow.

Don’t let yourself worry whether it bring happiness or sorrow

For God and his son Jesus Christ are yesterday, today and tomorrow.

So live your life today and always try to be your best

And when tomorrow comes then it will be today

As will the next and then the next until with God your soul will rest.

Then for all eternity you will be held in his loving arms where you will stay.
