If you believe in God it does not mean you’ll never be sad.

It does not give you reason to believe nothing will ever seem bad.

Faith does not promise that you will never be blue

You cannot always be on that wonderful high not matter what you do.

Sometimes it will seem like nothing will ever work right

But, if you believe you will know that God knows of your plight.

Life has its mountains which we must work to ascend

It also has valleys that sometimes seem to never, ever end.

The secret to all of this is so simple we often overlook.

To see what this means simply watch as a brook

Finds its way through the woods from where it began

To a place where it finds the ocean, so majestic and grand,

When the brook reaches the ocean it joins with the sea.

It is very much like what heaven will be

If we overcome the tragedies we endure in this life.

If we do not let our faith be destroyed by worries and strife

We will reach our home on those heavenly shores where we will be

Hearing music more beautiful than that of the sea.

We will sing along for the spirit will be high

In a home prepared for us somewhere above and beyond the sky

So, my friend when you find that you feel down and out

Let your spirit and soul give out a mighty shout

For guidance from God who watches over us all

Cry out to him and he will hear your call.
