The Rebirth of a Dogwood
In the middle of the yard reaching toward the sky
Stood a dogwood tree which had pink blossoms in spring.
It was sad when we found ourselves watching it die
It shriveled and found the breeze could not make it sing.
All we could do was cut the tree down.
This left nothing of the dogwood except a stump
Which we cut strait across just above the ground
And my wife placed a potted plant on it as if it were a token
Of its beauty in the spring and even more beauty when fall came around.
It was like a salute to a friend who had been lost and broken.
One day, my friend we had to remove the flower pot
For the dogwood began to reach once more for the sun
Its many branches filled in the same spot
Working toward rebirth and its battle is done
And it once again has leaves that are full and green.
As fall comes along they will turn ruby red
The most beautiful color you have ever seen.
It is reborn. It did not remain dead.
It has been given a new life, a new growth, a new start.
Just like the new life of which you have read
In the word of God which quickens the heart
And gives us the faith to live our life each day
Knowing that our Master will show us the way.
We will be reborn!

The heavens and the earth declare His glory...and He certainly knew you would faithfully take up your pen, and write beautiful poetry about it, giving Him the glory also!
Wonderful depiction of rebirth!
