Living Rage

Do you know what our biggest problem is today?

Rage, it takes on all forms and sizes and shades.

There’s road rage, experienced when someone is in our way.

There is the rage of a parent over the mistakes their child made.

There is a special kind of rage aimed at the family next door

Because they don’t mow their lawn or prune their flowers any more.

We feel that anything which is not just as we like it

Is a personal affront to us but we will not admit

That sometimes we need to understand that life does not revolve

Completely around us so if we should want to resolve

These conflicts that we fight with day in and day out

We must show more compassion and be less likely to pout.

Things will not always, in fact some times rarely will go our way

So we must learn to take a forgiving attitude and practice each day

The art of showing patience, forgiveness, encouragement and love.

All are gifts to us sent from or Master in Heaven above.

They were sent to us not that we should hold on to them

But rather we should love our neighbor and always encourage him.

Only when we have mastered this impossible chore

Will we be ready to walk up and knock, then enter Heaven’s door.
