You know something? I categorized this as inspriational and I hope it is but there should be a catagory for depressing. Our young men and women are fighting a war that will mark what their future will become. For some, it is not a happy picture.

He Was

He was a young man who had been taught to believe.

He has accepted Jesus Christ as his savior, whom he did adore.

Upon finishing high school he felt compelled to leave.

Saying good bye to his loved ones he joined the Army to fight in the war.

His Mom and his Dad and his beloved Ann prayed for his save return.

Then he came back from the horror which he had now known.

He soon realized that to love Jesus Christ he would soon have to learn.

He would have to overcome the seeds that war had sewn.

He would have to pray and search deep into his own soul now.

What he would find there, he was afraid to know.

But in the violent wave the war had changed him somehow.

Now his mind seemed to follow where’re the wind would blow.

He had been thoroughly trained in the ways of war.

Now he had found that he knew not himself anymore.

He prayed with the help of his loved ones each day.

Through prayer they helped him once more find his way.

He accepted Jesus Christ again and then followed his lead.

Love overcame the horror and hatred giving peace to one in need.

Others had not the courage to face what they had become.

They gave way to lives of violence, causing the death of some.

And others found themselves in prisons behind the wall

It was the ways of this world that caused them to fall

However, we can’t allow criminals to run free.

So prison is where this war hero’s must be.

It is sad but true , they learned to kill for God, country and to survive.

Now there is little peace where their souls will arrive.

Let us pray for them all.  They are our son’s and daughters.

Difficult for us to understand, Lew, but God knows all, way before we were conceived! So I agree, all we can do is offer our prayers!

God Bless
Lena
