When I awoke

When I awoke this morning the sky was dark and gray.

I saw no rising sun to brighten up my day.

However, though I could only see its light as if through dense and dark clouds.

I still welcomed the rising sun and praised God with a voice so loud.

The Sun may not be shining with its entire brilliant glow

But it is still rising, shining on the clouds, of this I know.

Yes, my friend there will be cloudy days of only semi-light.

However, though the Sun is not visible it still interrupts the night.

God is like that, you know.  We do not see him though he is always there.

We have no idea what he may look like but we know he will always care.

So when you have those days when the skies are dark and gray

Remember that God’s almighty love goes with you every day.

Believe in him and live your life as if you truly know

That God is with you all the time and everywhere you go.
