This was inspired by one of Regis’ writes. The story is true and I am now watching through my windows as our Dogwood bush puts on a beautiful show. There are no blossoms for it is fall. But in the fall the tree’s leaves are every bit as beautiful. Life is renewable. Believe and you can be a part.

We Mourn No More

We were young and love and preparing to marry.

We searched for a house in which to make merry.

We found a modest home in a nice neighborhood.

It was not huge but we knew it would serve us good

In the front yard there stood a pink dogwood tree.

Its blossoms were full and standing proudly for all to see.

In the fall we found another pleasant surprise.

The blossoms had fallen of but something else caught our eyes.

The leaves turned a color of the most beautiful ruby red.

Two years ago, our beloved Dogwood was dead.

Many said it was a blight that caused it to wilt and die.

So, I cut down the tree with a sad and lonely sigh.

We cut the limbs off but we kept the stump standing a foot high.

My wife put a flower pot on top of the stump as a beautiful ornament.

Last spring we saw sprouts coming from around the stump and we knew what that meant.

The dogwood tree would live once more to ordain our lawn.

What a wonderful joy to know that it was not gone.

Some say the dogwood is symbolic of Jesus hanging on the cross.

If he had not done so, this would have truly been our loss.

Just as he died and was raised from the dead

This is exactly what our pink dogwood tree did.

It is truly a symbol of the life recreated anew.

Though it was dead the Dogwood now stands proud and true .

Just as our lord, it shows that death has no hold on you or on me.

God has created life where death used to be.

Beautiful words of hope and knowing our God is there for us at all times. He never dies and leaves us just as we never ever die but go to him in Heaven and live on an on and wait for the loved ones to appear with them too. Such is God's promises forever.

Thank you, Lew. I was told as a child that the dogwood in it's fullest bloom is the true Ressurection Celedration. How about that.
I am glad your tree is still growing.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
