Put it where it belongs!

The past holds some unhappiness and this is like a heavy weight.

We must unload the burden which it imposes before it is too late.

We must accept the things that already are and start our life today.

We need to lay the burden of broken dreams on God and ask him to show the way.

The way he will show us is built on now and this leads us to our future.

If we trust in God everything about our days are a constant sequence of adventure.

Yesterday is gone and there is no way to go back and change it.

Today is here and is a first step to a future with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

So put your past aside and keep only what you have learned.

If there is sadness, like an end of a love affair that has left you feeling spurned

These can all be lifted from your shoulders to the stronger shoulders of God above.

He can carry these burdens for you with his never ending love.

The past has no place in the present unless we have learned something from it.

But if we refuse to leave it behind we have dug an eternal pit.

In that pit we are prisoners, the escape from which we have no hope at all.

Until the day we declare, I free myself by answering my Masters call.

So give your life to God above in Jesus’ holy name, held dear

And praise him for you know that he has always held you near.
