This was inspired by a poem posted by Steven Lance. It made me think of the parallel between the sun and moon and God and Jesus. Have you ever noticed that his word is reflected even on things we take for granted. The light of the moon is that of the Sun. The glory of Jesus is that of the Father.
I praised the Moon!
I praised the moon for its soft glowing light.
I glorified in its comfort as I sat in the night.
I thanked the moon for it brightened the dark sky.
But the moon simply ask me “why, my friend, why?”
“Why do you praise me for the light is not my own,” said the moon.
“It is a reflection of the light of the sun. The same light you see at noon.
Since it is only a reflection it is not nearly so bright.
Do you not know that you thank me for another’s light?
I have brightened the night thanks to the sun.”
This may be symbolic of Gods only son.
He too was quick to point out that his kingdom was not of his making.
He was honest with us, explaining his powers were a gift of God for the taking.
So, when I see the moon I think of Jesus Christ, Gods only son.
If not for the Father, then whose will would we have done?
Another point I consider as I look at the moon at night.
Jesus came into a dark world to be the light.
No one looks upon God and lives, this Jesus told us all.
We do not look at the Sun for its light is blinding and would cause us to fall.
But we can see it through the moon and enjoy its warm glow.
We can look upon Jesus for through him we know.
We know who our creator is, God in all his wonderful glory and love.
Through Christ he is with us and will lift us above.
We will then be with him in a home that knows not end.
It is for this reason he said, “It is my Son I will send.
Whoever accepts him as my son, accepts me also.
They accept on faith what they would otherwise not know.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork. Day unto day uttering speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard." Psalm 19: 1-3. This psalm says it all for me! Nice write, Lew.

I've been doing a lot of the same reflecting, Brother, as we watch this Full Moon, radiant in the November sky, in all its glory!
"And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day; and the lesser light to rule the night; He made the stars also." Gen.1:16
Thank you for this beauty!
