How many of us can honestly say we have never felt as if we had lost ourselves? I would guess that if any of us are honest we would have to say there were times. We, after all are only human. We are prone to make mistakes and we are apt to do and say things that we know we should not do or say. That is why God’s wonderful forgiveness is such a glorious gift. Keep in mind, though that we need to realize how badly we need that forgiveness. He will not thrust it upon us. He will ask until we admit our need for it. That is called confession.

I once thought I had my life in total control.
I had my plans ready and I thought I was on a roll.
The strangest thing about the way that I see things now
Is that I lost track of where I was heading somehow.
Oh how grateful I am to my Master
Without his wonderful love my life could have become a major disaster.
I took some wrong turns and found that I had lost the way.
Tired and alone, I walked through the darkness of that day.
God turned on a light leading me out of the blackness.
His strong arms reached for me to overcome my weakness.
“Are you ready now to follow my guide,” he asked quietly.
I nodded and humbly bowed my head silently.
How did I ever lose my way? I wondered in confusion.
God answered, “The control of your life was nothing more than an allusion.
For life takes many twists and numerous turns.
As one lives in humility then that same person learns
That the Master of your fate is the one by which you were created.
This is the truth and it should not be debated.
So give the control of your life over to me.
If you will follow, I will lead you across the widest sea.
To the home that will never allow you to be lost and distressed.
For in my kingdom, love, light and joy means you’ll never be depressed.
Follow my Son and he will lead you home beyond the clouds.
Where the music you hear will be praises sung loud.
