We all want salvation. We all want eternal life. We all want blessings from our Heavenly Father. Notice the word want keeps coming up here? We want but do we give? Can we not better ourselves if we can be a gentle reminder of God’s love to the whole world by living his word and following his way?

Self-esteem, self improvement, self preservation
Hold on a second, what is wrong with the situation?
Self, self, self… it goes on and on
And it will lead to a point where the ability to love others is gone.
Do we spend too much time protecting ourselves from the world where we live?
Do we not realize that safety has a price of its own to pay, for if we care not then we do not give?
Self-esteem comes from what we accomplish in life.
It is not born on the winds of avoiding hurts and strife.
Self improvement is a product of being a friend of those in need
And self preservation is nothing more, my dear friends than our salvation.
Let us take self out of the equation and dwell on why we are here.
It is because our Master created us and, yes he holds us dear.
His love makes it possible for me to love myself but that’s not all.
We gain nothing if we do not love others as ourselves and do not meet Gods call.
If we would feel truly good about ourselves we must first put our lives into Gods hands.
We must proclaim his love in humble forgiveness for it is this by which he stands.
God loves us so we can love others.
Even those who don’t know him are our sisters and brothers
And if we do not witness how will they ever know.
Our witness can be quiet friendship which we spread as we go
From place to place and town to town.
We can quietly live by his love and they will see without our making a sound.
I will simply trust in God for my salvation.
I will praise him in work and deed even if in tribulation.
For at the end of my journey I know he will embrace me.
I'll meet him in his home beyond the sky where we will spend eternity.
For now, I simply live as best as I can for my Lord.
I will live his plan for us all. This plan will speak louder than words.
