I think we have all been too quick to speak out in anger when hurt by another. I know I have. Words cannot be taken back. You can apologize and should do so when you find that you have let negative emotions drive you to say things too quickly. However, those words have been spoken and will always resound themselves. Pray for grace and God can help us all overcome.
Do not let yourself speak in anger or resentment that may you feel
For those words are clouded with these emotions.
These words make wounds that may not heal.
Think about what you say and save the dire commotion.
Consider why you feel these things and diligently search your heart.
If you take the time to search you may choose your words with care.
You may choose to speak with forgiveness, a more creative start.
Anger clouds your judgment and thus your words will be unfair.
Love will be the catapult which will help you rise above
You can lift over the need for angry words and resentment.
And search within your heart and soul for capacity to love.
If you do this you will save your self the agony and replace it with contentment.
Your soul will sing praises to his holy name
And you will commune with him with peaceful mind.
If love and forgiveness is what you give, you will surely receive the same.
Love breeds love, that.. forgiveness and brotherhood are the tides that bind.
It is better to live and love and forgive
It is better not to carry the heavy burden of hate.
For this burden will become heavier for you with every day you live.
Apologize and make amends with your brother or sister before it is too late.
'Love will be the catapult which will help you rise above'..
A heart cannot be filled with love...and hate. One will take master over the other. Jesus said we cannot serve two masters, for that very reason.... having forgiven us for our sins, HIS LOVE causes us to forgive others, theirs.
A wonderful and wise write, brother!

Now, that's a raging, fire-snorting bull I don't ever want to encounter! Lew, this is sound advice. Your sincerity flows from the heart. What struck me most was this: "It is better to live and love and forgive ... It is better not to carry the heavy burden of hate."
How spot on you are here, my friend. Love is so much better than hate... Hate is easy to do, love is difficult. Is it any wonder why Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself?" He knew what the human heart was like all right. Awesome! Thanks for sharing more of your wisdom.
What a true picture....I swear that's just how I looked when I got angry before I got saved, my temper was one of the biggest hurdles that I have to overcome. But through much prayer, patience, and more prayer I have learned to control it so much better than before. Your title is very wise, we do need to learn to not speak in haste, for when I have...I have more than not really regretted my words, and you can't take them back, even with an apology...it's not the same as just thinking before we speak. Such a great and wise write.

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
