That day when evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and to him “Teacher, don’t you car if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still! Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (Mathew 8:23-27)
Jesus said to his disciples, ‘let us go over to the other side.’
So they boarded a boat and together they began to ride the tide.
A furious squall came up and the waves bashed all around.
The disciples cried out, ‘Lord do you not care that we may drown?’
Jesus said not a word to them but got up and rebuked the wind.
‘Quiet!Be still,” he said and wind calmed causing the storm to end.
He turned to his Disciples and asked, “Why is it that you are afraid?”
He knew the wind was one of many great things his Heavenly Father had made.
The disciples asked “who is this man who commands the wind and waves to obey.
His powers are far greater than anything we’ve seen before this day.
