When you see the dark cloud moving from the southwest toward you

You realize that it will bring rain with lightning and thunder, too.

When you see the sun scorching the earth with no sign of rain at all

You brace for a drought but you pray for the rain to fall.

When you see the winds blowing trees up by the root

You know that more destruction will soon follow suit.

The weather man calls for a tornado and you watch and you prepare for its arrival

But when the Prophecies of Christ come and threaten your survival

You do not take time to consider the devastation.

You do not heed the cost of sin and its final destination.

When our life is unaffected by these catastrophes we never ask why

But when trouble comes our way we blame the Lord on high.

As an alternative we may say, “There is no God.”  He is only pretend

We would say, “If he existed, his arms would surely extend

And he would protect us from all of life’s dangers and not let us fall.

“Therefore, I have reasoned that he does not exist at all.

Have you never considered that our problems are created by us and no other?

Has it not occurred to you that part of his plan is that we should love one another?

Did you not consider that when God gave us free will it was a chance to grow?

That it also meant we would live by our own rule which sometimes pains him so?

We ask of God for happy and peaceful lives but what do we give?

What we ask of him is not as important as the way we live.

When you find yourself questioning our Lord or placing blame

Remember that he gave us free will and when we abuse it that is a shame.
