Rain comes dancing

If you live in Texas or some other areas where the rain simply will not go away you will not appreciate this poem as much. Here it has been dry. Our grass turning brown as the summer sun burns it. It seemed God was teasing us with dark clouds which promised a break but they would pass over or swing away before we got more than a drop or two. Last night he delivered. We were dancing in the rain.

Poem Artwork

Raindrops fall, dancing where e‘re they land.

The hungry soil drinks quickly for it is dry as sand.

The rain comes hard at first forming streams running along the street.

Soon it slows to a moderate fall and trees and flowers stand to greet.

Come my little raindrop for I need your moisture; liquid sunshine falling down.

You come as the sky lights up with flashes of lightning and thunders rolling sound.

The breeze comes gently to lead your drops to cover all the land.

Relief from the dryness and July heat is a gift from God’s own hand.

When the morning comes and sun once more begins to shine upon the trees

The moisture that you sent our way will soon dry with the warm summer breeze.

The trees, flowers and grass care not of what tomorrow may bring.

They simply stand in place and enjoy the sound as raindrops sing.

Splash and dance and playfully caress the fruits of nature’s creation.

The rain is greeted by all the land with joy and great jubilation

Marvelous, Lew. And Singin and Dancin in the rain is marvelous, too.

Beautiful write my friend, in Kentucky we are dancing in the rain! Finally, the dry sod has been quenched with several days of rain! The kind of rain that is slow and steady...allowing each living thing to slowly drink from the blessings from heaven!Enjoyed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
