God Created Clouds

And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water...” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening and there was morning; the second day.

Poem Artwork

Clouds are made up of tiny droplets of water and ice floating so high up there.

Each droplet is smaller than a grain of flour so they can float in the air.

Clouds are formed when warm moist air from the earth moves in an upward direction

Where the air is cooler and the droplets freeze; this is called convection.

Sometimes cold, heavy air pushes under to force warm moist air to rise.

Sometimes it simply climbs up the mountain and enters higher skies.

These tiny droplets of water go unnoticed for we do not see.

Once they reach high altitudes they become clouds floating high above the trees.

When we see them floating white, fluffy and listless in the blue summer sky

We rarely take time to enjoy them as they quietly float by.

The wonderful gifts of God and nature we take as commonplace, are actually miracles beyond simplicity which we take for granted. Nature is a grand design, and God the master engineer. Love this.....Good thoughts and observations, sometimes need reminding ) and I thank you for this one Lew!

Good one (as always) Lew!

Suggest changing: "Clouds are formed when warm moist air from the earth rises in an upward direction"

to: "Clouds are formed when warm moist air from the earth moves in an upward direction"

Good lesson, and you can easily watch it happen out here in the "Piney Woods" area. This is all pine forests and the ground is acidic. The trees uptake the ground water and then transpire the moisture into the air through their needles. This moisture rises, turns into droplets of water which finally come down as acid-rain. One good rainfall will lower the pH of our motel swimming pool so much that we have to chemically re-adjust it. The change is dramatic.

Lew,

I am a cloudwatcher. God paints beautiful skies: and I enjoy seeing them. Well done, thank you for the meteorological lesson and reminder Who's really in control of the clouds. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Thank you for taking the time to express your perspective on the wonder of clouds, Lew. They are wonderful. You've probably read of my encounter with a cloud in my "poem," "Cloudface" which is posted here. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I am a cloud watcher - I 'see' animals, people's faces, boats, etc. and I love to see them in motion, even the dark clouds. But didn't know what made them. Kinda' like looking at a person, sometimes you don't know what they're truly made of unless you really, really look.
