This poem is simply a voice crying out in the darkness. I began to write and realized I had no inspiration until I realized that even the frustration I am feeling is a subject we all know only too well

Poem Artwork

There are days when I seem not to be creative no matter how I may try.

There are days when my words simply seem to quickly fade and die.

There are days when I start but I never quite seem to finish as I wanted.

These are the days when I reach within for extra strength and proceed undaunted.

I am having one of those days and I am fighting to overcome the lack of concentration.

I find myself searching through my mind which today seems too dark for some form of inspiration.

What is it I am looking for?  This I ask of myself as I search through the dimness.

This is when I realize that these can be the days when I truly have subjects to address.

Subjects such as the dimness and darkness that would take control of my mind.

If I am brave enough to search through the darkness who knows what treasures I will find.

So I walk in the darkness and search for a shred of light sublime.

And my creativity will once again return to me when comes the right time.

Spiraling downward into an abyss - be it words or life - God's hand comes at the right time. Thank you for the insight.

We are rowing the same boat. My muse is paddling up stream these days. This is quite motivational.

For having lost your inspiration, Lew, you've written one heckuva great poem that many identify with...know I do. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
