Jesus died for our sins but does that leave us completely free to live in anyway we want or was there a responsibility laid upon us in return. I think the later is true .

Poem Artwork

Dear Lord I know I have not always been perfect and done the right thing.

But you told me Jesus would pay for my sin so praises I could sing.

Now as I look back upon my life as it has gone by

I see that I have paid for my sins and I now ask you why.

You said when Jesus hung on that cross he did it to pave my way to heaven above;

That he gave of himself for my sins out of eternal love.

If that be true , Dear lord; I ask you now why I am paying in this life.

You told me the debt was paid and sin was erased relieving me of strife.

My child, answered the lord in a voice soft as the wind.

My son paid for sins of your past; clearing the balance but this was not the end.

When you gave your heart to me you promised to live and to love your brother;

Feed the poor, visit the imprisoned and love one another.

You have sometimes failed and I will forgive that for your debt had been paid in full.

However I cannot let the balance once more mount up because if it does it will rule.

I take your payments here on this Earth so when you reach my Golden Gate

The debts will have been paid before it was too late.

Please know that even when I seem to punish for your human flaws

It is only so you will have no debt to hold you back when my son comes and calls.

Very inspirational! Your words of wisdon and much needed common sense paints a beautiful picture of giving of ones self. Always and forever to walk behind and follow the teachings of Christ...

Be safe,
