This is especially for my dear friend, Ted.

Poem Artwork

The fires of Hell were brimming high hot enough to threaten my very soul.

They destroyed everything in their path; their destruction quickly taking its toll.

I cried out for I knew not how fight these burning embers moving toward my very spirit.

I felt its heat and watched the inferno burning brightly eating away at anything that was near it.

Then Jesus Christ was standing between me and the burning inferno of Hell.

And as he raised his hand toward the fires they found they could no longer swell.

I stood in the shadow of the Lord on high and praised his name for he was my savior.

From that day forward he would guide my heart, my soul and my behavior.

The fires of hell may be hot and destructive but they cannot destroy my Lord.

He has built a fireproof ship for me to ride; all I need to do is climb aboard.

Come my friend and join the Master and ride into eternal bliss.

It s there that the fire of hate cannot be kindled for there is no spark to start it with.
