As a heart patient I know what it feels like to live each day with uncertainty. I have also learned that each day is a blessing to be taken for just what it is. A miracle sent from God.

Poem Artwork

Look up the meaning of life in the dictionary and it seems less than extraordinary.

The definition of life you will find sounds rather dull and ordinary.

Life is the quality that distinguishes a functional being from a dead body.

Life is a force that underlies an animate beings quality.

Read on my friend and it will finally describe the life of man from his very first breath.

It is a spiritual existence transcending physical death, the period from birth to death.

Life is the phase of earthly existence but the dictionary stops there.

Life is more.  It is experiences including our very first thought and our every care.

It is filled with joy and a mixture of deep sorrow.

It is shadowed with hopes and doubts of what may come tomorrow.

Whatever the answer, life was meant to be lived to its fullest extent.

Learn from every heartache and enjoy every happy event.

One thing I know is if you do not live life to it’s fullest each day

You will have missed out on life for you have wasted it away.

Amen Lew! There is 'existing' and then, there is 'living'. You have expressed very well the true essence of life, which no dictionary can do. Great job! I enjoy your poetry.

Lew, this is oh so right, if we don't enjoy our lives, we are just wasting it. I agree with everything in this great writing. Hope your health is okay...but, with God on your side...I know you are doing great!
