No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

~Nelson Mandela

Poem Artwork

Love and hate share much in common, you know

They both are like a reflex, a learned response and so..

When someone shows you love it is most likely someone did so for them

He learned to love because someone cared to show that love to him

If someone shows to you actions of contempt, disrespect and scorn

You may ask yourself to forgive that person and ask how these seeds of hatred were born

Likewise we should learn to admire the person who loves, forgives and cares for others

For this person truly knows God and understands that we are all sisters and brothers

“Let not the sun set on your wrath,” the holy book proclaims

Make love, forgiveness, tolerance and thoughtfulness

Be your goal and let them be your major aims

Don’t judge another by the color of his skin or by how he wears his hair

Look into his soul feel his pain and share his joy, be kind, be thoughtful and be aware

True love is not just a thing to receive for it truly can be a reaction

When you give love, it tends to come back in the form of a glorious reflection

Love others as you would have others love you

Because they were loved they will learn to love too

Wouldn’t it be a wonderful feeling, knowing that love started with you?

A wonderful feeling, indeed. Like most things in life, both hate and love are taught. And there is far too much hate being taught in our sad old world, today.
