He was a proud man, this Simon C. Lace

Little did he know this would lead too disgrace

He built his whole life upon self-importance and conceit

He had few kind words with any person he would meet

Then came the day he stood before his creator

At the gateway to Heaven, Gods great theater

The Heavenly Father cared not for his earthly feats

For this did not buy Simon a Heavenly seat

“Why, Dear Lord do you not recognize my Greatness”

This was the question posed by Simon to his highness

Gods answer was, “Go away for I know you not

The kingdom is notFor the smug or the arrogant one

But for those who come in humility, having served Gods only son

When our earthly life ends and our soul stands before our Lord

Our actions done in humility will not be abhorred

Proverbs 11:4 Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
