No matter how old we are we’ll never grow up, or so they say

I don’t feel any older today than I did yesterday

However I don’t feel like taking my shirt and going out to play

I think I’ll simply prop my feet up and rest today

I believe I will simply sit back and spend time in relaxation

And dwell on thoughts of when I first met her and first gave my devotion

A love that so quickly turned into fires of fervent passion

One that led to many years spent together in complete adoration

Happy times like when I first became a father and young smiles of my three little ones

Who too soon became teenagers and too soon fully grown

I watched as they too fell in love and had kids of their own

Now this kid is a grandfather and his life starts anew

I say to them, each and every one, “I love you”
