I awaken each morning with a prayer of thanksgiving

A prayer that should be declared by all those who are living

Thanksgiving and celebration and morning devotions

For the one whose fervent love lifted from our shoulders a heavy burden

The burden which was lifted when he was hung upon the cross

A debt that once wrought was sin which became our loss

Some may think of me as a fanatic but somehow I don’t mind

Is it fanatical to be loving, patient and understanding or kind?

Jesus paid the price for all my earthly flaws

In dying he paid my fine and my soul answers when he calls

He is my Lord and Savior, my teacher and my Guide

Jesus Christ opened a door for me beyond which stands my God
