Sometimes daily living can seem disheartening. Problems can create more problems and depression can set in. When this happens look to Jesus for faith.

Poem Artwork

I fell into the valley of distress and despair

The flames of Hell loomed around me everywhere

I beseeched my Master for deliverance from the inferno of worry and care

That is when I saw a white cross standing amidst the devastation

It stood in the middle of the fire yet the cross shone forth with its own illumination

Its glow was not glaring or distressing and I beheld its glimmering light in great fascination

For everything around it became ashes, burned in the fires of destruction

The beautiful cross stood steadfast giving off its own glorious and holy radiation

And I praised my Lord for I knew he had answered my petition

With it he had said, “Stand by the cross for it brings with it your salvation

It was upon this cross that my son died for your forgiveness

His love bought your pardon.  Of this be ye a witness

The fires of depression soon burned out and thus came to an end

The cross stands there till this day, a symbol of God’s love through Jesus Christ our deliverance from sin

It's truly wonderful when depression burns out, and we can move ahead, once more.
