As I stroll into the room I do not notice the extravagant lamp on the counter
I am looking for the soft gentle smile and the kisses I hope to encounter
I drive around these days not in a Cadillac convertible or flashing four by four
And I have no need for shopping sprees at a lavish department store
I have no memberships for private clubs or the local bowling team
But you may believe me when I say my life is fuller than it may seem
When I stroll into the room a small voice yells “Papa,” as he sees me coming in
It’s one of five grandchildren and that’s when the fun begins
I am a family man who wouldn’t trade places for anything
For the love of my wife and kids and their kids is more than money can bring
Therefore, I simply thank God above for riches he has bestowed
He gave me those whom I love and more. His son paid the price I owed
Praise Jesus
