When I was a kid we played baseball
If I swung and missed it was strike one
If the pitcher missed the plate it was a ball
If I hit the ball out of the park it was a homerun
Three strikes and you out and that is a letdown
A disappointment, yes but it is not a loss
Your next chance at bat will soon come around
Another chance to push more runs across
The team with the most runs when nine innings are done
Takes home the trophy for a victory has been won
Let not one frustration cause you to quit in shame
Learn from your failures, keep playing… try hard and win the game
