As I think back on my life, which is blessed by God’s hand
All the way back to when I first learned to stand
There are memories that I would ever not trade
Although tragically many of them tend to fade
I delight in the remembrance of my first swing at a baseball
Playing football with my friends and other childhood memories I recall
I will never forget my first kiss with the girl who would become my wife
A kiss that was the beginning of happy and rewarding life
Then came the first steps my firstborn son
Watching him grow as he and his sisters learned and played and run
God has given so many memories to this mortal man
I feel a strong need to praise him for this and I can
I thank God for each day he has given to me
That he gave me ears to hear and eyes to see
I thank him most of all for Jesus Christ’s birth
When he sent his only son to walk the Earth
And heal the sick and save mankind from sin
And to finally hang on a cross, our souls to win
Remember this as you celebrate on Christmas day
It is Jesus Christ birth. He who came to say
“Come with me I will give you rest and my yoke is light
That is why the wise men followed the star shining bright
Following our Lord will lead to Heaven’s shore
Where you will know grief and pain never more
