This morning I awoke and looked out my window to see a slight covering of snow on the ground outside. There was a slight breeze causing the trees to sway slightly and the sky was the most beautiful blue without a cloud anywhere to be seen. I said my usual morning prayer thanking God for yet another day to experience his wonderful handiwork.
I went downstairs and fixed my usual breakfast of bacon and eggs and a glass of orange juice and sat down to eat while looking out the window at the wonders of nature. I once again found myself reciting silently my favorite psalm.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. I’m sure you know the rest. Everything seemed so peaceful and quiet. As I steed outside the sun was shining brightly in the east causing it to be blinding as it bounces off the white snow covered ground but as I turned to the west the sight of the placid blue cloudless sky seems to invite me to carry on my conversation with the creator of all these things and me too. I accepted the invitation and prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to God the father, God the son and God the Holy Ghost.
I wanted to thank God for life, for senses to enjoy the beauty around me and most importantly, his love. Join me won’t you while I say the Lord’s Prayer:
Our father, who art in Heaven hallowed, be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from Evil
For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
