The darkness concedes its’ tenure as the sun rises in the eastern sky
Its’ light reflects off the snow covered ground as I awaken with a sigh
God in his magnificence has granted us with another day
It is as though with each day he sends a resurrection of yesterday
This is why I begin each day with a prayer of thanksgiving to my creator
For each day he sends is another performance in this his earthly theater
And because I know this day is a gift from God I will live it with great exultation
For the sun which has awakened me and gives to me hope and great expectation
I praise the lord for this, another day and each and every minute therein
For as the sun produces a light of its own I have a light that shines within
That light is a gift from Jesus Christ the son of God and my savior
I start the day asking for him to give me strength and guide my behavior
