Do not have your concert first, and then tune your instrument afterwards. Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all into harmony with Him… Hudson Tayl

Poem Artwork

The sun makes its appearance in the eastern sky
I awaken and slowly rub sleep from my eye

My very first thought of the day is directed to He
It is a prayer of thanksgiving for the new day which he granted to me

“My father,” I pray as I admire the morning sky
“I thank you for the morning light and for each white cloud that floats by”

My eyes, though they are sleepy drink in the beauty all around
And I am gratefully watching the squirrels as they animatedly scurry from here to there in the trees and across the ground

The temperature is cold on this January morning with just a slight breeze
As I step into the cold air outside I cannot resist the need to sneeze

But even the sneeze on this day is no reason for worry or strife
For God has given to me another first day of the rest of my life

I pray, “Heavenly Father I shall do all that I can possibly do
To live this and each day that comes in service of you
The end of the beginning!

Ah, yes, Prayer first thing, is the best way to start our day! It sort of sets us up to better handle the trials that come our way. Thank you, Lew. You always bless my day with your thoughts of inspirations. :)

Hugs and God Bless!
