Fantasy of snow

I hear some people griping about this horrible weather but somehow it awakens the little boy in me.

I set inside my domicile and watch the snowfall
Because I am too old to shovel snow after-all
 
But I still remember with great delight
When my brother and I had snowball fights
 
I must admit that I will stay inside today and watch it snow
On a day this where could I go?
 
I can still admire how the snow blankets the holly tree
It puts on a panoramic revelation just for me
 
The blanket that covers the ground is majestic
I watch and cannot help be feel nostalgic
 
I am reminded that this blanket of snow
Is made up of millions of single snowflakes the flow
 
Alone they are tiny and almost ignored
Together they are a beautiful gift from our Lord
 
Thank you, Lord for sending the snow to see
For it brightens the world and it is inspiring to me

This is such heart-lifting stuff...as is the snow for me too! I remember as a child the slide in our playground at school, here in UK in 1963...didn't melt from Christmas to the Spring..what fun we had! It brightens our world in its purity...and the sight of sun on snow still transports me to another world of delight...I like you, admire how it blankets our Holly trees...shared upliftment across the miles...Lovely poem!

A beautiful write, Lew. Fresh snow is a delight to see, and can certainly inspire great writes, that is, until the cars and salt turns it brown! I can just imagine you standing at the window admiring the snow flakes! :)

Even with all the mess it causes, it is still very beautiful to watch fall. I too remember, as a little girl watching the snowfall than going out to play in it. Those were the days.
