It is most easily forgotten, the need to balance truth with gentility. We embrace the warm, fuzzy feelings and ignore reality to our own peril.

Wow! You've boldly said more within the lines of your write than many people ever speak out and say! You've spoken the truth my friend. Our society has become dependent upon quick fixes (pills) for every mood, pick me ups, lay me downs, fear, strength, depression, anxious, pain, and the biggest one of all...NO REASON! I see it everyday within the children in my classroom! "My mom wouldn't help me with my homework, she was asleep!" or "My dad and mom were at the neighbors at a party!" or "What are those pills that my daddy is mashing up and putting up his nose?" Children that are results of meth, cocain, alcohol, and marijuana, children that can't stay focused because they have been victims of their parents abuse!!!! Oh this topic touches the heart of this teacher, our chilren are suffering due to adult ignorance and stupidity as well as the doctors who hand out the pills for all occasions. I say if you can't sleep, get up and work a while, if you don't have energy, get more rest, drink a cup of coffee, exercise, get the blood pumping. If you have fears or anxiety problems, pray! Hmmm, I think the final suggestion, no I know the final suggestion will take care of many people's problems. I understand medication if one is truly sick, but for no reason, a crutch and abuse...no! Your write is stimulating, well written and straight to the point my friend! Enjoyed!

PC, is just trite, you can legistate all you like, but peeps will still think and say what they want, your founding fathers booted us out so you can have freedom of speech. It's character that matters not the superficial quick fix.. You're spot on, do gooders cause havoc... TY for such a good write..

When we come to a point that we know we can do better then that is when honesty comes so many people are like robots just do things with out thinking about the consiquences of their actions. Once we know better we do better. Once we let go of what we feel others should think about us then we will live better live for the love of life and God not for other peoples approval.

valid points here, yet I feel there is such a diversity in siutations, human strength and circumstances, that at times people do need that comfort. That pat on the back. There are so many levels to life, so many environments. Some people learn to swim on their own, others need lessons, But I think human kindness goes such a long way. Also a belief in God...........
