We MUST step back...for it is some ADULT that got them here...
...and WE are the ADULTS! Now, let's work on getting them BACK!
...our communities need to take more serious actions for our troubled youth...

Karen, what a marvelous attribute you have within your soul, a love for children and recognizing they don't display what really lives on the inside. It's great to have such compassion and feelings for children, your touch will make a difference in so many young people's lives. God bless you for your kindness and thoughtfullness to the innocent youngsters in our world. This is an exceptional poem and I hope this message is read by many.

We can shake our heads all we want, it is still up to us to lead, guide, and set the example for our youth...teaching is the most important part of this process...

it's our responsibility to nurture our youth spiritually, culturally and educationally ... this should be society's priority ... it may be showing signs of becoming so, at least i hope it is ... my daughter is working on her masters to be a professional school counselor ... she also desires to help quench the angst of the youth today which she is also part of ...

A powerful write my friend, far too many educators only see what lies on the surface and do not take the time to get to know their students so they may understand and relate to them, so they may also be able to help them achieve their goals. I always try to take the time to get to know my students as individuals, for they each have their own stories to tell, their own dreams, their own hopes, fears, desires, tragedies, and personalities...touching write my friend!

i totally agree and well penned. we take young lives for granted and only if we look at reality for what it is and realize these young minds and hearts need to be nutured in a loving manner will children grow in a loving world.
