Dancing in the Kitchen

She has no idea what she has done,

After all, she is only six,

But hand in hand, as they walk away,

There is so much life and energy,

Passing between them both.

For the past days lived, a bit over a year,

Sickness wracked my sister’s bones,

We almost lost her twice.

But this sweet child drew rainbow pictures,

And gifts of love and luck,

From her faith-filled believing heart.

And now, my sister, in remission for over a year,

Walks hand in hand with her grand neice, swinging along,

They laugh and play and feed off each other,

Dancing in the kitchen, reveling in life.

Karen, gee, I could actually cry hearing your sister is in remission, I've whispered prayers for her every night since you told me about her illness. I didn't want to ask because I was afraid of upsetting you because I knew she was so sick, thank goodness I now know. This writing touched me so much and filled my heart with joy. God Bless

It is said that the innocence of a child shall lead us and I believe this with all my heart. No matter how down or troubled I get when I see my grandchildren it melts away like butter on pavement and all that remains is a smile. Glad your sister found the smile in this little girl.
