i know this is late--i sure enjoyed the games!

Olympiad

The human form so beautiful,

In its finest form and all of its glory.

Finely tuned, supple and strong,

The best of the best from around the world.

And they run, muscles lean and strong,

Hurdles are jumped and meters trail behind them,

And they tumble, and summersault, balance and spin,

Showing grace and power, speed and endurance,

And all that their training has wrought.

And they swim, their shoulders to waist,

Finely tuned, triangular water machines.

Streamlined in beauty as they reach with such grace,

For the wall and the record breaking touch.

And they catapult themselves in the air with a pole,

Throw balls into hoops, over nets, into goals.

They shoot and wield swords, lift weights and throw punches.

All the while their forms exhibit beauty and grace.

And they struggle and sweat, push themselves to the limit,

They cry when they fail and are jubilant in success,

Showing heart and great courage,

Which move those who watch,

For the heart under the physical form,

Is the thing that makes the human creature,

All the more filled with a beauty so grand.

Very discriptive, Karen.I didn't watch one ounce of the madness. Wish I would have watched our German Dressage riders kick a$$ again :-)
Go Phelps!! I love those swimmers.... ;-)
