Pretty powerful Trask, yet painfully true. The seeds planted long ago have taken root and are now sprouting far and wide. One never is too sure through which device (telephone, television, cable box, satellite from above) Big Brother is lurking. Such a shame as this really was a once grand land. ...

Take you on a little side trip, here. Some time back, 12 men died in the Sago Mine disaster. Really sad. Should never have happened. Negligence on the part of the mine owners. We asked the surviving families why they continued to do this dangerous work, when owners do not care about the safety of their miners. "We believe in God. We are not afraid" was their answer. Dumb answer (to me). Where was "Big Brother" when they needed him? Trouble is, Trask, "Big Brother" is elected by us, hired by us, and unsupervised by us. We are lousy bosses. We have reaped what we have sown. How long do we limp and wimp our way down this path?
