Preview of a Lifemare

One night I dreamt I lost you.
It was not like any dream
I’d had before...it was so clear.
So possible...it seemed.

My dreams have often left me
In turmoil when I’d wake.
But then the sunlight would pour in
And render them as fake.

But this one was a nightmare
that I surely could not shake.
An endless desperation
That followed me to wake.

I could not ever lose you.
It’s a loss I could not bear.
So when it doesn’t seem so,
Please remember that I care.

I love you like no other
And I hope that you can see
That my world would be a lifemare
Without you next to me.
