It must be June

Honeysuckle nectar fills my tongue
Tiger lillies open to the sun
My feet hit the ground
I’m on the run

It must be June

The asphalts hot on my bare feet
My skin is clammy from the heat
Daisies in the meadow
Tar bubbles up the street

It must be June
