First God leant us the Garden of Eden; a place of astounding beauty
But man forgot it was simply on loan when he took the fruit from the tree.
Then in trust again Man was given this World to care for and protect
Once more he forgot it was a haven as he treated it with disrespect.
And now all the rivers are polluted with many hillsides lying bare
God’s creation has been looted without hesitation or even a care.
Whilst Man turned against each other like Cain and Abel did
He not only murdered his own brother but other sins he hid
With plotting came the hatred between groups of fellow men
Akin to the times of Herod; persecution and genocide did reign
No life worth more than the dust and debris strewn across our land
Accusations and distrust when a Samaritan offers a helping hand.
In the home trouble dwells ‘cos we no longer teach wrong from right
Allowing young girls to give themselves freely like Jezebel’s at night
The morals of mankind are slipping beyond our grasp or our reach
And even some with a ‘calling’ can be forbidden by law to preach
Communities hold divisions of more than colour, creed and race
Separated by their misgivings and never glancing at each others face.
The World was designed to be shared and cared for with intent
But mankind seems resigned to destroy everything to full extent
Isn’t it time we found the beginnings of a new way for all of us to live
By forgetting forefathers’ sinnings and share the love we have to give
A time to nurture our World and give our children peace and harmony
Put out a hand for all to hold and watch how amazing life can truly be.
