Grasping

for education, training, accomplishment,

love, acceptance.

PROOF

That I am

Worthy.

Now, older, letting go,

releasing my grip,

giving away,

caring less, worrying less, hoping

only for a sunny day, or a quiet snowfall,

or bird song in the morning.

I'd like to reach the point in my life when I worry less and can enjoy the simple things. I'm not there yet.

That golden period called retirement that we should all be healthy enough to enjoy. I always hated training. More suitable for a monkey or draft animal. But all the rest I will endorse. Everyone should enjoy what your poem promises.
