If only I were an angel,
I would watch over you
Night and day.

~*~

Never would I allow any
Harm to ever befall you.
For I would protect you
And always keep you safe.

~*~

If only I were an angel,
I would constantly shine
My light upon you.

~*~

If times become difficult
And you're feeling despaired,
With each darkened step
I would gladly guide you thru.

~*~

A beautiful lullabye to
you I would sing.
And never again would you
shed another tear.

~*~

I would tenderly wrap you
with my golden wings.
And forever I would make
your pain disappear.

Such peace and serenity
to you I would bring.
If only I were an angel.
