We are forged

In the trials of life,

beaten upon the anvils

with the hammers

of death, destruction,

disaster, mistakes,

lost opportunities,

betrayals, disease

and injuries

that make

the inner steel.

Inward strength

we discover

while we pass

through the

smithy’s fires

that holds us up,

bears us through,

not, as weak bullies think

to spread the pain to others,

but for that heart

that brings us joy,

that lets us

find contentment

when the confusion

of this state

might overcome us.

Indeed we can

celebrate when

we have learned

to let today’s cares

suffice for today,

when we have discovered

that inner peace

which passes understanding.

Then are our

Inwards gathered

for what

we were meant

to be.
