Poem Artwork

There is no reason we can't gaze
Up to heaven and give praise

Just lift our eyes  and say thanks
Like putting money in the bank

Even if your deaf and blind
Creator sees what's in your mind

When our thoughts turn heavens way
Words in our mind He will replay

Instead of grumbling feeling down
Speak to Him He'll change our frown

Think of  time spent on wasted thoughts
That have no value, return is nought

When they could be used  for enlightenment
That will make our idle time well spent

There is no reason we can't gaze
Up to heaven and give praise

Just lift our eyes  and say thanks
Like putting money in the bank

The second stanza, which is also the closing strophe... Unless it makes reference to MAMMON, - the one referred (MISGUIDING) and printed on the dollar bill/coin - I can't see how its imagery can fit in the body of this poem, "Money In The Bank".

Whatever it is or was the intention I think that the author should consider re-setting this poem.

An stimulating, striking, and inspiring composition.

I salute You, Poet!

Good advice, but I fear you are playing to the choir. Don't stop, though.

This is another one of "Eileen's devotionals" directed right at me. Thank you so much for these reminders to get out of my zoned-out state of mind.

An idle mind is the devil's workshop. I didn't say that, just borrowed it.

Eileen,

Excellent write; as always, a job very well done! BRAVA!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Continue to keep daddy in your prayers; and pray I don't fall anymore (already fell before on the way home from breakfast--I am going to feel it tomorrow---it's icy here; I found it...LOL)

There is no time better than now to breathe in all the beauty that surrounds us and to learn to want what we have, giving thanks for it all. Even the difficulties have purpose, it is up to us to either accept them as they seem or to delve deeper and find the true lesson. Giving thanks is very much like money in the bank, you are on spot with that, Eileen.
Take care,
Sherry

Oh dear!! This is such a scream, coming straight from having posted my "penny-pinching" write, Eileen. It was a toss up between that and a very contrasting Faith Walk piece... for some reason I went for the "mean" option! :)) But how much nicer is your attitude of gratitude... and the beauty of it is that it costs us not a penny. Beautiful and serene for that Sunday feeling... which can last EVERY day of the week. Bless you and thank you, Kate xx

I'm sure He does, Tiger Lily, and I wish many more could see and hear, as you do.

This is a great investment and asset Eileen, when we focus our thoughts and prayers on the Almighty !
Store your treasures up in heaven, where rust can't corrupt, nor the moth devour !
