We do live in a fallen world that is prone to aches and pains of varying severity. We despair at the suffering that catastrophies leave in their brutal wake - lives destroyed, devasted. As mere humans, we can't answer why. Job constrained himself from asking why.

God brings order from chaos, victory from suffering. I choose to trust Him. The times I feel His presence most are the times when I am enduring trials, even calamities in my life. "When I am weak, then He is strong."
"Now faith is being sure of things hoped for and certain of what we cannot see"... QED, what we CAN see doesn't equate to the exercise of faith. It has always floored me that peeps talk about faith as if to say "prove it; show me" - isn't that just a contradiction in terms? Likewise, the perversity of our rational mind likes to point the finger at God when disaster strikes, yet, when countless testify to the operation and intervention of God in their personal lives on a daily basis, that information is met with general apathy as if it somehow demonstrates nothing. All I know is that those who wrestle with the issues and honour the questions, the journey and the search WILL find... I usually find that when I step out on the waters of faith, they become as a dry path beneath my feet... But I have to step on liquid first! :)) TY for this reminder, Eileen. We might never know the detail of The Plan but we sure can know His character which shapes it if we come into personal relationship with Him. K xx
