In the desert of despair
I reached for mercy water
and received blessed
refreshment in the ocean
of a Savior
I lay my entire body into
His living water that heals
souls and was delivered from
the arid, parched, stagnation
of my spirit
His renewing waves washed
over me with an abundance
of new life and a revival of
His living spirit within me
Out of the shadows
Into the light
Bringing me through
A long lonely night
Out of deliverance
Came His song
Into remembrance
Where I belong
Out of despair
Into delight
He was there
Like a gallant knight
Into star-studded skies
Shining so bright
A glimpse of paradise
Flooded my sight
Out of my mind
Would this mortal be
If I ever forget
What He did for me!
