Behold a verse that can't be born
Because of miniscule orts in morn
Sunbeams dancing in mornings eye
Invading my senses with words of why

Yawn and wish for more dark to sleep
Instead,  there are appointments to keep
Give in and rise in a demented daze
Collecting your thoughts from the haze

O dust that falls upon our lives
That permeates  and stings our eyes
How is it that we come from such
It makes one question Masters touch

Where art thou O Rhyme of reason
I can't live with thoughts of treason
Need one whose kindness shall not depart
The  one who can stir my hackneyed heart

Who promised to lay foundations with Sapphires
To relieve the afflicted one caught in the fires
This morbid mundane world stifled by banality
Has begun to deplete my soul filled spirituality

Yet.I recall  He offers peace flowing like a river
He says the wolf and the lamb shall feed together
He'll fulfill the promises of glorious new creations
I'm renewed enough to start my morning oblations

I love the photo that you chose to put with your words. I can relate to wanting more darkness for sleeping...but suddenly it happened, almost without me realizing it. Now...I am saddened that another season has slipped away and the wrap-up of the year is coming quickly.

it's sad, but all of us have awakened when the Muse was still drowsing -- but there is always HIS peace and guiding hand to start our day off and see us through -- your views are always poetic pearls -- thanks for sharing -- may peace guide you 'til the haze wears off -- JMW

BEAUTIFUL image to accompany beautiful verse: thank you, Eileen, for this one. And Karen's right about the piccy. LOL Looks like something I'd take! Wanna know what I said when I opened this up? "UHHHHHHHH!" (Say that when I see something I really like. And this, I like! Along with your words.)

You clearly convey that urge and necessity to write.

"Yawn and wish for more dark to sleep
Instead, there are appointments to keep"

These verses remind me to be grateful that I was able to take early retirement. Very nicely expressed, Eileen. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis
